World Water Week is Aug 16th - 22nd.

Africa Water is Life has set a goal of raising $7,000 by August 22nd so World Hope International can drill two wells which will provide clean water for those in Sierra Leone, West Africa.

On average $5 can provide water for a child or an adult. Currently, If every member would
just give $25 during this week, we can provide two wells. That's over 1,400 people we can help receive clean water.

Forget giving up coffee! Just be thankful you have clean water for your coffee and help out someone who doesn't by donating to the cause by clicking here.

P.S. Don't have $25? Find a friends who does.

One Journal Entry: Needing Clean Water

“Seeing on tv, pictures, print is different. Being here and witnessing this is just unbelievable. The wells . . . . . watching the well process and then see people get clean water for the first time was breath taking. Oh how I take for granted a simple need. Where I live is so far beyond what people have here. We went to a village, a few villages where we were able to see where they get their water. I CANNOT believe that people drink the water they drink. I filled up a five gallon bucket of water and carried it about a half mile up to the village. Watching the pregnant women filling her bucket (40 lbs.) and knowing she’ll have to carry that all the distance we walked, compelled me to speak up. As I filled the bucket I took note of the slime, the bugs and the smell. In my mind, I would never drink the water but knowing these people had to, made me weep inside. Everyone carries the water on their head but I couldn’t, I carried it on my shoulder. As I walked back up to the village the people were cheering for me. There was a small hole in the bottom of the bucket and it was dripping down my arm. I will never forget the smell. It smelled like swamp water. It was very hot and bugs were sticking to me but I pressed on. I wanted to see how hard it truly was each day for these people (3 times a day) to carry water from the swamp to the village. When we got to the top of the hill into the village I was out of breath, my arms were tired and I thanked the Lord for the experience.”
