How Can You Help?

I am a first time blogger. I feel compelled to share my story because the people of Sierra Leone have changed my life. One thing I know is that creating awareness for these people is crucial. This year 1.8 million people will die of waterborne disease. Waterborne disease can be caused by protozoa, viruses, bacteria, and intestinal parasites.
There are 6,500 people dying each day, let me say this again 6,500 EVERYDAY WILL DIE! The majority of those about 4,500 are children. These unnecessary deaths are the direct result of not having clean water to drink. I saw this first hand and cannot believe what I saw. You know those ads you see on TV that raise money for children in poverty around the world? The ads where the children look extremely malnourished, dirty, tired and sick? I saw this kind of poverty a few months ago on my trip to Sierra Leone. I have NEVER seen anything like this. These people need help!
I look forward to sharing details of my trip with anyone who is interested in reading. I pray that God would bless this "Water is Life" project and people all around the world working for the same cause.
